What Exhaust To Run?

Before I venture into the ATP turbo upgrade I will need to do something about my factory exhaust system. I have narrowed it down to three choices, but am having a hard time deciding. I like the styling of the Rennen, but the sound of the B&B. Sounc clips can be @ www.modsport.com for the Rennen, and www.bbtriflo.com for the billy boat. Anyway let me know your opinions.

Just for your info, i got a Milltek exhaust for sale, if your interested.

But i recommend the Thermal exhaust also. I didnt know BB made somethign for our cars, but i know they are very high quality for BMW stuff that ive seen.

Looked for the Thermal but couldn't find a clear picture of what it looked like. The B&B exhaust sounds sooooo nice though. Really aggressive. Never heard the Milltek, how did you like it? I hear they are really mellow sounding.

yup. Very mellow. Loved it, but with the S4 rear bumper, it didnt fit properly, so went custom. You can hear the one on my car now, its a tad louder than my current setup.

Most of the exhausts are nice for the car, let me know what you want out of an exhaust, and ill help you pin down one for your needs.

Been doing lots of research myself on exhausts and id like to get some opinions - other than minor tweaks we all agree awes exhaust is thermal but do you think it will sound like their street or race version?

AWE no idea which version they have.

But i think Thermal makes one of the nicest constructed exhaust for the Audi A4.

The race version is a tad loud for my personal taste. The milltek sound is the best in my option. The APR sound is amazing.

Honestly, the best exhaust is the MTM, but its expensive.

I usually recommend people to custom Magnaflow like mine, Milltek or Thermal.

Did you keep Milltek dp and have pipes bent then add magnaflows?
How much did you pay for your exhaust?
Mandrel bent or will that not make much of a difference for street car?

It's a great option to consider, and they'll be on sale as an introduction.

APR's exhaust for the B5 A4 is made by BBTriflo. I know because before I bought the APR, I tried to get a price directly from BBTriflo. They referred me to APR, telling me they made it for APR. I would suspect that BBTriflo makes the B6 exhaust for APR too. Correct me if I'm wrong about the B6 info. The guys at Ed Hansen commented on the quality of the APR exhaust while putting it on my car -- they said the quality reminded them of the BBTriflos they had put on some Vettes.

Brand. But as a name BB is very top on my list. Thermal also is very high quality.

AWE sounds like a great option if it is thermal, and im sure Mike Kim will have good pricing when its released.

Personally I think the Rennen exhaust sounds bad ass! From what I heard in the clips and on some ppls cars I would go with the Rennen. My opinion is solely based on the sound though. Lon or Paul know tons more about all this stuff + they've actually tried different things on their cars. Ive had my 99 A4 for 3 months and its still stock so I have no experience.

For your car, I only see a $9 difference (BB is more). For my car, I see almost a $100 difference (APR is more). Don't know why the price difference.

But I did notice that the diameter of the tips are different between the two systems. Maybe APR changed suppliers. Anyway, what I told you before is what I did -- and BB told me they made it for APR. Note, I bought it about 4 years ago (version 2).
