all right people whats the difference between these it may sound dumb but im tired of woundering. engines,body diffs,interior diffs i want it all.

337 - 2002 VW GTI (only comes in silver for the US, only 1500 in the States)
This is also called the 25th anniversary because it celebrates 25 years of GTI in Europe (world)

20th Anniversary - 2003 VW GTI (comes in Jazz Blue, Black Magic Pearl, Imola Yellow only in US, only 4000 in States)
This is the 20th anniversary because it celebrates 20 years of GTI's in the United States

1.8t GTI - 1999.5-2004 GTI (bunch of colors)
These are the regular edition GTI's

i've been told the differences between 20 AE's and 337's are:
-color choices (or lack of for the 337)
-20th AE's have sunroofs, 337's dont
-wheel designs (but same size)
-20th AE's all have unpainted mirrors (black), but 337's are colormatched (silver)

is that it?
does either or both come with black housing headlights?

btw, did 337's have all the recalled stuff (window regulators, coilpacks, etc) on earlier MK4's remedied when they were built?

also.. the 337 and r32 have kits or lips

the regular Gti's and golf's dont come with them

This is right.

The US spec 337 did not have black headlight housing. The Euro spec 337 did have black headlights.

yeah thats true. 20aes and 337s have the recaro seats (stitched red in the 337s and grey in the 20aes).

Yes, the 337 and 20thAE have the O2M gearbox, as well as the 24v Vr6 GTI produced in 02 and up, different gearing for the different engines.
