In the Volkswagen/Audi world, Eurosport Accessories over the last few years has created a name for themselves that has become a reliable source of aftermarket goodies for those of us looking for more than just straight-from-the-dealership performance. Every year in late fall they open their doors to fellow enthusiasts for their popular dyno day and bbq, giving everyone a chance to check out their 10,000 sq. ft. facility, along with a chance at placing their car on their in-house Dyno-Jet dynamometer and making a couple of pulls.

The day progressed smoothly as the staff on hand kept things moving throughout the day without a hitch. Multiple VW enthusiasts took a shot at the rollers in an attempt to come out on top with the highest horsepower honors. About half way through the runs, a supercharged R32 was strapped down and spun the rollers up to 400.4 horsepower with 373.7 foot pounds of torque to the front wheels at 5600 RPM before snapping its main drive belt. The R32 used a VF V2 unit pushing 17 PSI to create its power and it definitely showed - it would have been more interesting if the car avoided incident and made it into the higher RPM range. Coming in second was an ‘03 1.8T Golf sporting an upgraded Turbonetics 30R turbo as its main source of power, producing 287.2 HP with 239.5 FT LBS. of torque at the wheels. This was followed closely by another 1.8T Golf utilizing the Turbonetics 28GTRS turbo, producing 275.8 HP with 241.7 FT. LBS. of torque.

As the day progressed the line of cars looking to make a horsepower pull extended further down the street giving on lookers a chance to bench race with other enthusiasts from the community. The number of people in attendance goes to show that the European community, especially the water-cooled Volkswagen fans, are looking for an edge over the competition. Dyno days such as this one are a great way to find out just where you are with your car.
