If anyone is interested I work with a woman who has been the only owner of a 97 or 98 Black w/grey interior Jetta VR 5spd. The car has around 150k on the clock but has really been babied. Not sure but she said that the dealer was thinking around $3000, my guess is if you offered to give her more than the dealer is willing to pay you could most likely take it home.
