Investigators have closed all but one lane on the southbound Interstate 5 near Palomar Airport Road while they work to investigate the accident.
The drivers were racing at speeds of 100 mph, according to investigators. The driver of the second car -- believed to be a dark gray or blue Honda Civic -- fled the scene around 12:50 p.m. Investigators are searching for the car.

When are kids going to learn that racing is not dodging in and out of traffic on the fwy or street.

the same thing happened at Tamarack a month or two ago though ...
really not much can be done to stop it though, short of ensuring the freeways always are moving at 20mph or setting speed limiters at 50mph on all cars.
any clue what car that red one was?
they learned the hard way. hopefully this takes the other driver out of street racing.

Okay, update: they're saying the car the fled the scene was a lowered Honda CRX with spoiler and primer gray or blue. So that doesn't really narrow it down.
