View Full Version : Anyone hear about a fatal wreck last Saturday?

Would have happened in San Bernardino, on Westbound I-40.
A late-model black Lexus LS430 went flying past me (probably about 90MPH), I noted the Lexus Carlsbad plate frame.
Maybe 10 minutes later, I rolled up on the scene of an explosion. Sports coupes and semis don't mix. My first thought was "damn, I hope there wasn't a passenger," I could see the car got worked on that side. Didn't see any skid marks, but the car must have slammed the semi going at least 80. The passenger side was crushed and contorted; the whole front end standing eight feet high with steam pouring out.
Some girl younger than even myself was on her cell phone; I saw her friend crumpled in the passenger seat over the center console motionless.
Just curious if she survived, or if this young girl took one life and ruined another by driving wrecklessly. The loss of life doesn't make me blink, but the careless disregard of other's safety and well-being infuriates me. Stupid f*cking rich b*tch. I'm sure her parents will bail her out. And buy her a slower Lexus next time.

Amen on the wreckless driving. I have a couple people that work for me that I know drive exactly like that and won't learn till something like that happens to them.

and then people wonder why we all have such a negative view of street racing (or driving fast on the streets, period)....and wonder why mods lock their "kill" stories and racing stories, etc.

Sucks. Hope the passenger made it. The driver will have to live with her guilt for a very long time...
Had an idiot whip around me hauling ass on our way up to Escondido for dinner. There was a cop two lanes over. Watched him get his... and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Well i'll tell you what i drive a semi for a living and after 10years i am still left numb at people's stupidity behind the wheel.
A great deal of my driving takes place after about 1:30 am and young guys out there using the freeway for a race track is pretty common. So are incredible accidents involving semi's...guess who looses? People just fail to have any regard for their life much less those around them. The damn shame of it is the truck driver often is blamed while he is sitting there horrified wondering what he could have done to avoid these types of tragedies from occuring.
Driving is a privilege but its how i earn a living. Your perspective changes when you have so much to loose not to mention your life.

Hey, just 'cause your car couldn't win a streetrace against a one-legged midget on a tri-cycle...

Why even put a smiley face at the end? Mount up if you're going to talk shit.
Like I said, I never mentioned street racing in the topic or body—you did. It wasn't a story; I was only looking to get in touch with a fellow VW enthusiast. And I'm pretty sure it only got locked because you came in and cluster-fucked it. Thanks for that.

I'm far from mad...or a dumb ass. Whatever, I'll mind my own—I could really care less anyway. You win the Internet battle! Go celebrate by playing D&D and jerking off to anime (sp)...
My condolences to the family/friends of the girl mentioned in the original post (if she did in fact loose her life).
This website has never condoned the practice of street racing or even high speed driving. There is a difference between street racing and high speed driving on an open road by yourself. This site does not condone either.
Also it is not uncommon for a moderator or Admin to lock/delete/remove threads regarding street racing.

I applaude you for standing up for this. I am a spirited driver but i do not condone street racing either. I am a car enthusiast but my occupation governs my sense of responsibility to my family first and foremost as well as to fellow drivers and professional truck drivers who's reputation i taint when i get out there and act stupid in a motor vehicle.
