this was passed around our service dept..so be careful

Starting Jan. 25 2006, the CHP will be having a crack down on speeders, they have brought all part time officers on to full time, and brought 50 unmarked crown vics to orange county, all O.C. freeways are affected. they are supposed to issue one ticket every ten minuets for anything 7mph or over. this will supposedly last 30 days and forecasted to generate 22 Million dollars in revenue to close the budget gap and pay overtime to officers.

i always wonder why the big big thing about law enforcement on the streets and freeways. why dont they put thier money to better use and crack down harder on under age drinking and drugs and stuff.

it never ceases to amaze me.

i wanna be profiled and searched and have unnecessay roughness used on myself so i can file a lawsuit and have my retirement paid in full at the age of 19.

i somewhat agree, but the saying "speed kills" is so true. there would be a lot less problems on the road if everyone obeyed traffic laws. of course i am not putting the blame totally on speed, i blame asians too muauhahah kidding kidding. but yeah i'm 19 too, and retirement does sound good

.

Teenagers drinking generally don't kill anyone but themselves when they do something stupid.
Teenagers speeding have an unfortunate habit of killing other people on the road when they do something stupid.

Good to know, Mike - thanks!

I do have a habit of putting my right foot down too far sometimes on the freeways, though I'm good at keeping it slow on surface streets, and am a stickler when it comes to residential areas.

-- Kane ... much to the dismay of some area residents, I suppose. I guess it's also because I do complete stops too.

Phony e-mail warns of freeway speed trap
CHP denies "speeding-ticket frenzy" in south O.C.

By JIM RADCLIFFE
The Orange County Register

A bogus e-mail is making the rounds claiming the California Highway Patrol will deploy a massive speed trap on south Orange County freeways, a CHP spokesman says.

The e-mail, which appears to be getting wide circulation, says the CHP will start a 30-day "speeding-ticket frenzy" this coming Wednesday to "raise the extra funds for the state." The number of officers and patrol cars would be heavily beefed up, the e-mail contends, with officers writing a citation every 10 minutes.

Chris Goodwin, a CHP officer and spokesman based in Orange County, says the agency has received several calls about the false Internet missive.

"That e-mail is ... completely false," said Goodwin, adding that the CHP does not have ticket quotas. "Somebody made it up."

Even Goodwin got the e-mail. A relative sent it to him, asking if it were true.

"No, it's 100 percent false," the officer wrote back.

my roommate was pulled over today on the 73 soon after leaving the toll booth heading southbound, he received a ticket for going about 83mph. right after he got the ticket, they both pulled out into traffic and maybe 30 seconds later the cop pulled another person over. it was instant pretty much. the cop was all business too, he approached the car and said "i am pulling you over for going 85mph, the speed limit is 65, give me your blah blah blah"

iono about that e-mail being false, i have never seen cops get that ticket crazy

I've seen more CHP on the roads this week than I have in the last two months. 125 south of Santee had four motorcycle units and two cars working it this evening.

8 from grossmont to Fashion Valley also had at least five units working this afternoon. Much bigger show of force than usual. I tend to believe that there is a speed crackdown, also considering it was announced on 10News last week.

You can try to inform them all you want, they'll still believe what they want to. Remember, it's all a conspiracy.

OMG! I just got a ticket for going 85 in a 65. The cop was a total asshole and I was only doing 80 but he wrote 85! My radar detector didn't even go off, so that means he didn't know how fast I was really going. How do I fight the ticket?!

I heard from my cousin's brother's sister's dad, who used to be a part-time security gaurd, that if u pay one penny over the ticket, then they'll send u a refund, but if u never cash the refund check, the point's totally never go on ur license.

Oh that's cool I'll have to give that a shot. I heard too from my brother's ex-wife's brother's wife's dad's illegitimate son that if I paint my car black, i'll be invisible to radar and laser. and then I can go to court and totally bitch cause the cop was wrong on the ticket cause he wrote gray for my car color, and when i show up i'll be like, "he wrote gray, but i have a black car so this ticket like is wrong" and then i'll never get a ticket again cause i'll be invisible.

Dude, primer, dude.
'Cause like, if you ask the cop what color your paint is, he'll be like grey, and you'll be like no way my car isn't painted and the judge will be alll "Your a looser, dude" to the cop and totally dismiss the ticket!

My friend's ex-girlfriends, third cousin twice removed from Costa Rica did that and it totally worked!!!!elventy-one!!111
