Only hack on one of my machines in 6 years of uptime. Small flaw in the FTP server it was running, and got compromised by a shitty (not even good stuff!) warez/mpeg group :P Filled the drives which simply annoyed me, and then they're sloppy "rootkit" (which wasn't worth calling that) corrupted some registry keys.

Server is on the east coast so it makes repairing it a pain in my @$$. I moved the .com and some other sites to my 2nd server (I have a small network) and 3rd server, and things are working again :)

I'd love to relocate, but right now they reside in free colo at an ex employer's facility... nice beefy bandwidth and no one monitoring content/traffic.

However, the convinience of being able to fix them when they go down, is worth expense possibly :) hehehehe PM me some details.

If nothing else, a west coast installation in addition, is not un thought of :)

Nah, it was a warez group... like a little clan. no way to track/catch them, as they're global and multiple member organizations. No biggie. Just seal up the holes, clean up the damage and be better prepared to keep the next 6 years hack free :P

If folks are still reading this... This issue is taken care of, and the forums are down because of a seperate issue (hard drive failure) on a seperate machine... Just real REAL shitty timing! I'm popping em back up soon enough I hope.

Vixens is alive and accessible right now only over my cable. It just took a long ass time to get it from the east coast to here, and get it rebuilt and re-config'd (not quite done yet). Unfortunately the hard drive crash took data with it, and the forums got corrupted so... we have to rebuild.

At least this time we know what we want to do right away, and what we don't want to do again!

Server should be public in about 2 weeks max (Bugzy for pres!), and until then, the admins will be toiling away to put things back in the format we all knew and loved. Oh, and we also added about 150GB to the vixens storage capacity :) Attachments for all!

Not resovlable... no. The server isn't public. You have to go to a specific port on a specific IP to get to it right now. Vixen, me, and a few others have that URL as we re-build it to what everyone remembers... and more!
