I'm waiting for someone to pick me up, so I figured I'd post this up.
GT28RS .86 hotside @ 27psi
116 octane (leaded)
Timing 9 on the SPS3
REVO BT (obviously)
440 injectors
Greddy Type 31 intercooler
3" downpipe with open cut-out
Umm....anything else? Don't think so.

Graph explanation: on the way to the dyno it wasn't hitting anymore than 25psi, but for some reason on the rollers it went all the way to 27, where the EBC safety kicked in and lowered the boost a psi or so multiple times (I was in the car with the wideband). And the tach wire dropped. So there.

What's good and bad about either? If you're facing the front of the building, it's on the right. Ummm...I imagine it was the good one, since only one was operating. This dyno was done on one of the dynoperformance.com dyno days.

The turbo is too small to have it's peak power at 8k. It's obviously running out of steam way before that...and besides, I can't (safely) rev to 8k on a stock head.
looks like a good daily driver turbo though.
Spool up is quick!
You ever though about a holset? I dont' know
how much money you have but they're sapposed to be just as
efficent as the GT garrets. A cheap substitute. I got mine almost brand new
for 300 on ebay. The turbine houseing is alittle restrictive so you need to go kinda big, but they're all split pulse so spool up can be up to 1k faster then open collecter.

arp heads studs and a metal head gasket you can...then again the head still wont flow what you want....

I don't know anything about holset turbos; I'm actually fairly ignorant when it comes to cars. I'm trying to learn, though. I'm thinking about going bigger, so I'll look into them.
People have made 700hp and revved to 8k on a stock 20v head; it flows plenty...I'm just not willing to rev that high without reason. 350whp is about the most a 1.8t is going to see out of this turbo, so i'm happy that I even got to ~340.
The stock 1.8t head (20valve) is good for 8k-8500 rpm but the problem is having a turbo setup that will put the peak hp up that high. I actually take my P&P AEB head to 8k/8200 rpm every time I hit the track, have even hit 9400 rpms on a missed WOT shift while drag racing which is logged on each run with my LM1 wide band.

btw, about the Holset:
I've run an HY35W and a GT3071R. The Holset for a 500dollar or less turbo is hard to beat. Boost is reasonably responsive but when it comes on, it fucking comes ON. Like a bat to the face.
The 3071R feels like your driving a crazy strong NA motor, super responsive and progressive in boost.
I dont regret either turbo... just depends on budget. For a FWD car though, Holsets = no traction and wheel hop imo.

Well I'll at least get the chance to experience the 3071R...and hopefully have an updated pump gas dyno soon.
