The turbo in the AWP has the following number:
06A 145 713 D
it was likewise blocked with the Beetle with the MKs AWU and AWV.
now all engines with 132kw:
AWP in the Jetta ("MEX") only 06/01
AWP in the Jetta ("USA" "MEX) only 03/04
AWP in the Beetle only 06/02
AWP in the Beetle ("MEX") only 11/01
AWP in the Beetle ("USA" "MEX") only 06/01
110kw:
AWU in the Beetle only 10/00
AWV in the Beetle from 06/00 to 05/01
AWV in the Beetle ("MEX") only 06/01

My mechanic is saying that the 06A 145 713 D is for the AWW motor. Is this true?

It could be for that engine as well.
I think that part number just means K03. The K03-052 on the tag I think designates its a K03 sport.

This is a good opportunity for me to learn. Could somone use MS Paint and label the important parts for me? I know how turbos work, just want a "road map" of sorts. Thanks! ;)

I'm trying to put together a VAG specifc site with information like this but I haven't had much time lately.
There is a guy that does alot of stuff with TTs who has some really good diagrams and things in his fotki site. I know he has a good diagram of the basic components of our (1.8t cars) turbocharging system.

If anyone wants to help add information to my site... its open to the public to edit as a wiki. I was just trying to add in some terms to flesh it out a bit but feel free to edit content as you see fit and add in any terms you want. You can find items using the search and if they are not found you click the little ? next to them to add them and make an entry for them.

I can't get to any information on your wiki page other than information about wikiwikiweb software and it's own history, from your site ncctrnl.

Thats because there isn't much in it. You have to search, I haven't changed the default home page yet.
Let me see if I can make the homepage into an index.

Our turbos on the VW's are sooo ummm.....have sooo much material on them thats not needed. Like the hot-side, its teeny tiney, yet it has a huge outlet for the D/P. When I made my D/P, I used a flange from a TT supra for the out-let, so it was a little square but the bolt pattern was exact, and then theres the compressor side with the giant inlet, I know its for the rubber intake pipe to slip inside of with a snap-ring, Just get a T3 or or a T3-T4 and it'll be alot more efficient than the KKK, or even the 944 turbos, if you wanna stick with KKK.
Oh one more thing since were on the topic of turbos? Which whould you guys rather have,
A waste-gate dumped to atmosphere or, re0routed back into your D/P?

I don't think it would make much of a difference except it would be a lot louder dumped into the atmosphere.
