According to Moller.... They are trying to make it so that you dont need an FAA type of license to fly this thing.... However, Federal AVIATION Administration..... Aviation, Flying machine..... uh... same thing category right? I think they are trying to change that too though.

However you can park this skycar in your garage (yep, its small enough) and it runs off pump gas. 28 MPG

This thing has been in the making for a long. It would be kinda cool to see one of these actually hit the market. There was a rendering of this vehicle with an article on Moller in Popular Science in the late 80s.

Back then they called it the "Moller Merlin" and it looked a bit more futuristic. Also David Moller, the inventor/designer, said that he expects to see them flying through the sky by 2010. No Space Odessey just a dream. The company claims that they will be licensed and flying the first sellable one by December 2006. Thats their goal.
