Thats basically what happened on the way to class today. I have a 1997 Jetta GLX, and on the way to class today I heard a load noise from the rear of my car it sounded just like a "backfire" and as soon as that happened the check engine light came on and the car got really loud, its sounded much louder then before the backfire noise happened......WHATS HAPPENED!!?!?!? about 5 months ago I had a magnaflow catback installed if that helps, i dont know!?!?! This is the first time the check engine light has ever been on! Any idea guys/girls?
