I learned to read the author of the post before I assumed it was Eric again.

Nice M3 but it needs a 1" drop to wear those wheels though, And nice of BMW to extend a 6 year 100K mile warranty for the motor since the rod bearings last as long as Robert Downey Jr.'s time out of rehab/prison. I thought about getting one while im still young and in charge of my income, but can't ignore the S4 either. hmm desicions but then again a super charged 330 would prove equal match in the right hands for far less cash, as would an lighter E36 M3 with an iron lung. But I'm out of space and can never figure out which car to sell. the Landcruiser was a hard to bring myelf to sell. to many cars, not enough cash for them all, then if you have enough cash, your out of garage space and time to enjoy them all.

not all M3's had bad bearings just a short run of them did i beleive it was feb-may 2002, anything 2003 or newer will not be in question for the issue.

its sad..ive been to a couple track events and watched brand new M3's get towed home after making a hellacious racket when those bearings pop.

I have done several of the recalls for the pump and bearings before I left BMW but they were far from fixed. If you grandma the thing, ok it will last, they would never tell us but my theory is poor oiling system design because it happens very easily when the wrong weight oil is used (+ they wanted oil samples from every one I replaced), the rods are sintered steel and cold fractured and have decent sized bolts (you can reuse them 1 time!) so they are stout but all it takes is some DIY'er to fill it with anything other than 10-60W and its fate is sealed for sure. I would go with an E30 or a supercharged E36 (these are cheap now and so is the ironlung kit)

I wish. They just extended it again through May 03.

I'm already on my second motor on a Feb 03 build. I can't wait to find out if my 'new' motor was built with bad parts as has been the case with some.

Took them long enough to admit it.

I'm on the hunt for an e30//M myself. But just curious, why the e36 over the e46? Theres a 90+ HP difference stock vs stock...

How much was that M3?

Retail base is $44k.

DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLL!!

That was the one at Brecht!!!!!!!!! HUHUHUHHUH. I saw it, that is the hottest M3 I've seen. I think I actually drooled on it!!!!!!!!!! Those pictures do not do the color of that car justice. As a huge fan of British Racing Green/Forest Green, whatever you want to call it, that car is the BEST color I've ever seen.
