Putting a straight pipe in to fill the gap should work, you might have a CEL for a little bit but the computer should adjust. My truck now how no cat and my CEL went off and it runs WAY better, same thing happened with my buddies 01 GTI

I may be wrong, but IIRC the CEL will go off, but the code will still be there, and once you clear the code, the CEL will come back on (an endless cycle).

ok, thanks for your advices but this is what know,
there are two o2 sensors one before and one after the cat right? well the firts one monitors how the engine runs if its too lean or too rich and the second one only tells
the computer the cat efficiency by compering both graphs that each sensor have
so when the coputer sees that both of the o2 sensors are reading almost or the same amount of air(o2) it asumes that the cat is bad
my question is:

is there any kind of device that can lie to the computer by using a resistace on the 2nd o2 sensor?

I have eliminated my cat - I have only gotten a check engine light twice. I clear it with the vag when it does pop up. It only seems to throw a code when I am sitting in traffic and it is hot, but like I said, very rarely.
