I want to flush the Tranny in the SVX. As many people know the SVX's tranny's can barely handle the stock HP let alone some mods. The tranny has been sticking a little and I figured I'd flush it and get some fresh fluid in there. I know for a fact, sitting in traffic coming from Coronado isn't good at all for the tranny, even with an external cooler. So I guess the whole point of this rant is to source a good tranny shop for a flush and maybe even a ball park estimate.

If I had to guess, around 100 for the flush. No reccommendations on a shop though. :(

Why pay a shop? DIY!
Depending on access and line construction, you can disconnect the tranny cooler return line and clamp a hose on the remaining nipple, or disconnect the feed line and clamp the hose on the line. Anyways, the hose needs to be at least a couple feet long to drain into a clear plastic container like a milk jug or something.
- Start car. Allow no more than 2 quarts to pump out. Stop car.
- Refill about how much you drained out.
- Repeat until fluid coming out is red and clean.
- Reconnect lines.
- Run up to operating temp and recheck fluid level.
For a guideline, here's my writeup when I did it to my Buick ...

Thanks for the write up. I need to do that to my A4.
your A4 is "lifetime" fluid, takes a special fluid that is pretty damn expensive, and has to be filled when the trans is just warming up, I think around 100 degrees..............I had a guy with a 540 that had some shop try to do a trans flush and ended up cooking his gear box....
As far as you SVX, If it takes regular old DextronIII, just go to AAMCO
