Anything that affects the motor can potentially void it
which is nearly any of the mods most of us want
chip, intake, exhaust all potential
only thing that wont is probably wheels, suspension

Each dealership varies. You don't want to go to a dealership with a chip. I have a stock M-box when I need to pay a visit to the dealership. I have an exhaust no intake. Although I'm thinking of getting a stealth one. So far no problems.
To give you an example, a guy I know with his b5 modded, chip, exhaust, suspension, and he was complaining about some squeaking noise up front. Well, turned out to be his controller arm was going bad and they tried to blame it on his suspension but eventually the guy convinced them otherwise and replace it under warranty, which they did. Moral of the story; get to know your dealership. :)
Which reminds me I have 800 miles till my next service.

depends on your service writer and the tech you deal with
you just have to establish a good relationsihp with them, and be honest with your mods ...
a good tech wont blame an issue on something thats not related

Yeah, I never used to have any problems at Miramar due to mods, and trust me, the car had a lot of them. I usually dealt with Reuben. The only time I had any issue was when I started having an electrical problem and they wanted to blame the stereo. My stereo shop was extremely helpful and worked with Audi to identify the problem as being an Audi issue and it got fixed.
