they got better places to be and wont socialize with dubers
Before you build it, do we want them to come?
face it, most of the people who own those cars, are people with money that are not "car enthusiasts" let alone people who will likely "click" with our fourm and way we are used to things, they all hangout on there snobbish elite boards, reall enthusists with old P cars and benzo's are already here, there is one guy here with a 190 16V that comes and goes, I have an older 911, but I dont want to have to deal with guys with SL55 AMGs' and 996TT and their attitudes since their cars are "superior" to all, not all people with money are this way, but quite a few I don't want to paint the whole wall with one brush, but if that one brush will cover 95% of the wall.........................................then again, just my opinion

i used to go onto 6speedonline all the time just for the hell of it. believe it or not, most all of them with their $200k cars are just like everyone on this forum, just with more expensive cars. dont hold it against them just because they are rich.

I dont agree with you man. Why would you want to create lines and preach separation?
When I started to show up at the SCE Wed Night Meets, I noticed some people were very clickish. So what did I do? I brought lots of E46s :p
If SCE wants to live up to its name, socalEURO then by all means cater to ALL makes, not just the guys you are used to.
no, ALL EURO CAR ENTHUSIAST'S are welcome, It has nothing to do with money, but most people who have it are arrogant snobs or pricks, a majority of which, own the cars in the title to the thread.
They dont need another P car or F car chat site to compare penis size and who has the S class with the most crap tacked on it, talking about pulling it out of the garage in Coto to drive down to the Starbucks on the weekend, to the detailer, then back to the garage where it sits for another week or two. They especially don't need one here clogging up the bandwidth on this site with there babble, they have their own sites, leave them there. They don't like to associate with us lesser types anyway.

I dont 100% side with any of you BUT....i will say what i have experienced myself.
I do know what mike is talkin about above. Let those people be in their "own" forums & topics. We dont need that kind of content being dragged into this site. Ive encountered numerous Benz/even AUDI owners who totally "look down on dubbers" as if they're just too HOT & SUPERIOR to be associated with us vw owners...it makes me SICK. Its not hard to detect that "elitist" bullshit either. Thats just my thoughts...

Just because we dont have a forum labeled that, doesnt mean we dont support those makes. The fact is, those makes just dont really warrant additional forums. When they need technical questions, they already have a handful of forums to find their information. This forum would just add to events and normal chit chat and local enthusiasts.
We have never promoted this forum as the best technical forum out there. We do however promote it for finding other enthusiasts in your area, and thats what our site does best.

W, just a grammar nitpick. It's "I could not care less". If you could care less it means you actually do care.
As for forums, there's no real reason to the divisions, most are historical due to incremental changes. SoCaliVW and SoCalAudi became SoCalAudiVW, so VW and Audi had separate forums. BMW showed up, then Volvo and Saab were brought together to represent Sweden as a nation. With enough demand, other forums will show up, but it requires the building of inertia.

Think I'll drive my Fiat Spider out to Fusion this week, if it's not raining on Wednesday and/or freezing.

Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Renault, Seat, Peugot, Lambo, Ferrari, Porsche, Skota, Lancia
and im dont think the forums would look too nice with 10 additional forums

FWIW, the only time I've ever experienced any sort of elitism or clique mentality was from the Mercedes group at the big socal gtg(not including Sun, what happened to that guy?). Assholes one and all. Strangely enough, the guy w/the lamborghini was cool.

this has nothing to do with elitist, i think its just unnecessary
what would a forum on here benefit to a person with a lambo ... nothing ... if they wanted info on lambo's there's places better suited.
if they wanted to show off their car with some pics, then they can post in media forum or car lounge or whereevers
regarding car specifics for different makes, there's just no need for new forums ... but if for some reason we get more questions on those cars, sure we can add em
people can post in the car lounge forum for any misc makes already
thats where Subbie guys have posted in the past for some questions

what about combining sections of the car forums i.e. audi with vw, volvo and saab are already combined, put BMW and Mercedes together, the old school section is already one hole section on its own...maybe put ferrari, porsche, and lambo all together that way you dont have multiple sections taking up so much space .....might be worth a try i think if sce.com wants to grow its worth looking into espically with me just coming back from doing a porsche "shop" feature shoot and looking to do CEC next which is all high end euro

My M3 is NOT an automatic. Ok so it has no manual clutch. I bought it because it was the latest in BMW Technology at the time.
Guys who complain about SMGs should complain about the fact that there are no more rotary phones. :p O let me guess you need more skill to use the rotary phone huh? ;) Think about it.
And since I don't have an automatic now, then I wouldn't buy an automatic for the next car either. I would have to test drive the next car though, because if it doesn't feel like the SMG then I am not interested.
