... My Golf died on the way home today.

I was heading home up the 15 north. I went to give it gas when the engine flutter and lost power. I had to pull over and got towed home. IT fells like the engine flooded. It wants to kick over, but the engine wont start. Starter sounds good.

soooo now i got to figure out how i'm getting to work till the 26th. My sister is on spring break this week and she'll let me barrow her VW on monday. Hopefully i can get one of the Test Cars from LA so i dont have depand on her.

Why couldnt she last just just one more week... my poor golf

Good news is I pick up the new car on the 26th.

Is your engine with one of the coil packs that goes bad or have they already been replaced, its either going to be your fuel system or ignition system. I doubt anything else has gone wrong. I remember reading something about certain engines having bad coil packs. I guess you'll know once your mech diagnosis the problem. Good luck.

Coil packs re already replaced, the starter's been replaced and the altonatats (sp?) has been replace... My guy looked out it today.. sounds like the fuel pump went out... and he showed me what i needed to do to replace it... sooo i'll start there

Fuel pumps are easy... she'll be back on the road in no time.

My fingers are crossed for you to get a test car though :p

I dunno if I would even call it "dead" per se ... just a minor setback.

I agree with Creanium. Fuel pump isn't really that big a deal.
