I just wanted to know if any of your guys out there participated in the Road Race at Dubwars when it was held at Buttonwillow raceway??

If so, I was wondering if there has been a price change now that it's held at California Speedway? I was about to register for the First Timer (amateur) Road race event and then when I clicked on register I saw that it came with a $275 price tag:eek:

Does anyone remember how much was the fee to do the road race at buttonwillow? I have not done any participation in racing events, but I would like to know why the huge difference in price between road racing and autocross. I might still do the road racing despite the fact that its more than 4 times the price of autocross. I will be eating top ramen for that month, so if I pass out while on the track you will know why! LOL:smokem:

I recalled paying $150 for the roadrace event. This was for the 2004 dubwars event.

I also recall paying $275 for a racerfactory.com event at buttonwillow in late 2004 which wouldve allowed me more runs than dubwars had I not had issues with the car.

Checked my paypal history. :)

Prices vary. $275 for the dubwars roadrace would probably be about right. I don't know how much it costs to get california speedway vs buttonwillow, but I would assume california speedway was more expensive. I think its a fair price.

Nope, infield course. Yawn. $275 OUCH! I paid less than that to run the NASA event there on the full road course.
Check out the autox price, $50! Yeaow! You gotta really wanna do that for $50.:D

or for $225 you can run 2 days at Willow Springs with me in the NASA TT series!
On the big track! ;)

isnt the infield road course of the speedway just under 2 miles? the road course they use for the POC events is well over 2 miles (includes the banking in nascar 1 & 2).....rumor has it george put up the 20g's needed just to get a hold of the road course for the event....im not going to do it too much money to pay out ...ill be on the auto X though with my pushy VR

wow, I was excited that George had brought back the road racing (I actually didn't even go last year 'cause no rr) but I can't see spending that kind of money for 1 or 2 sessions. :(

Guess I'll be seein' you Shawn! heh.

btw, I paid 150 or 175 at the last DW at Buttonwillow to do the rr and was more than happy to!! :smokem:

i believe george said something that he's losing money at that price anyways, unless you participate in 2 other events.

Yeah but you could do a regular Solo2 autocross for around $35 and its probably closer to home.
San Diego Region schedule:
Sunday, May 7 Championship, West Lot

May 6-7: Willow Springs International Raceway with NASA. More info here:

if you are interested in doing the TT program, let me know. otherwise they have HPDE events which is much like Racerfactory.
