to paint or not to paint??? badgeless grille

as the title states, what do you guys think i should do.

im getting a JOM badgeless grill and im trying to decide whether or not to get it painted to match. right now im thinking not so it will match the lower black plastic grill slats in the bumper.

but what do you guys think?

leave it black. color-matched grilles only look good on dark colors IMHO.

I would keep it black but maybe throw a coat of flat black paint over the plastic.

yeah i really think im gonna keep it the black plastic to match the lower grilles

but im painting my 4motion lip so that will look good

I have a bonrath badgeless, and I filled the notch because a couple weeks later, my hood flew up on the freeway and destroyed my car. The first thing I thought of is what I can do to the car with the insurance money. $2500 later, my car's all fixed, and the notch is filled!

why did your hood fly up? did you not install the locking latch mechanism correctly?

The hood latch was defective, and VW couldn't give a shit. I've never messed with the latch in my life. Some how it broke. It was totally shut, and the secondary latch didn't catch the hood. It destroyed my hood, windshield, and roof of my car. Crazy.

i have the fk badgeless i was wondering the same about just painting the bottom of the grill then textureing my bumpers . can i just spray paint the fk grill is my question?

For a temporary fix, I just spray painted mine, and screwed it into the hood. It looked fine. Way better than having the notch.
