I'm still trying to decide which car to get for next ride. I'd pretty much decided on the Legacy GT but I'm not sure about the styling. Just looks too bland to me. I've been noticing Mini's alot recently but I don't know much about them. I imagine they'd have to handle pretty well but will I hate it since it's fwd? I drove the new Jetta GLI and didn't like the handling because of the fwd. Just plowed way too much in the corners. Is the Mini like this or does it handle well? Also the 168 hp isn't going to be enough. I just know this already so is there good aftermarket support for this car? Oh, also how reliable is this car? Any problems with the supercharged motor? Thanks for any help guys!

Saw one the other day w/ a hard top. Looked tits!
It's quick, rwd, probably fun as fuck, tons of engine mods out there too.
Just an idea.

Come on guys. Just "skip"? Give me reasons you say this please. I actually do like the look of the new Miata but I don't want a convertible. I like the Solstice too but I'm not too fond about getting a GM product.

I PICK MINE UP IN 4 DAYS!! I CANT WAIT!

If you want to learn more about MINI got to northamericanmotoring.com or my Teams site motoringunderground.com. I've learned a bunch from them

The MINI is a great track car stock! IT hugs coners so nicely. There are over 200 options to chose from when ordering. the back seats have lost a room for legs.

I was part of the Phil Wicks Race acadamey the other weekend. He's the guy that is responsible for the and Original Itallian job.

I dont like convetibles either. I'll get some MINI guys to post up...

Next year the engines will be turbo charged. This is the last year to get the super charger. There's a crazy JCW mini thats going to only have 400 avaible in the US

Mods cost a bit just like the VW's mods. There are tons of place to buy things. Trust me.. i have 9 mods waiting for my mini :)

Thanks man. Congrats on getting one! You'll have to post how much you like it. I'm sure I'll enjoy the handling but I'm kinda worried about straight line performance. 168hp doesn't sound that exciting. Turbocharged next year! Really! Ooh, I have some research to do.

There are also a few twin charged 300 HP MINIs out there http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhO2--cFTDY

A lot can be done to the MINIs. i love my supercharged MINI. And reliability has not been an issue for mine, 2004 and later have been dialed in.

Do you have any mods? If so how much power do you have now? Any idea what you're running 0-60mph and/or 1/4 mile?

My BF's mom has wanted one for the past 2 years. I told her she wanted to long.. now she's going to pay more for the new redesign that just came out.

I keep trying to tell her how the waitng list thing works... she thinks she can walk right in and take one home that night. She'll learn the hard way.

I am lacking in mods.... an intake is about it for added HP. Mine was dynoed at 175 to the wheels.

I know there is a lot to gain with mods, but currently saving for coilovers, wheels and some other suspension mods before adding power.

I will look for some numbers for you. I haven't timed those, I just get my butt kicked at the track...

Get a Mini...not as much power but it has enough. They handle great and are very fun to drive.

A few mods and you should be close to 200HP
