damn, to think after i bought my audi TT w/ 58xxx miles nothing would happen.. well heres the run down:

lately, when the car is at idle, completely still, the engine would bog and i would have a rough idle.. usually the idle would drop down to 500RPM then bouce up to sometimes over 1000RPM.. while this is happening, car shakes a little, and from the outside the exhaust sputters.. for that momentary split second, it seems if the car is going to die..

for awhile there was a solution.. that when the HVAC was on, as long as i had some type of air/heat/AC running it would solve it, and it wouldnt happen.. but yesterday it started happening even with the HVAC on..

on top of that, there is no MIL/CEL (*hope it doesnt happen*), but at the same time i dont know what it can be. ive tried to do my research, with somewhat luck.. and found some of the possibilities can be:

-coilpacks (buy new ones and replace)
-sparkplugs (buy upgraded ones and replace)
-MAF (buy new one and replace)

does anyone else have any suggestions? i hope to solve the problem before any type of CEL comes on or sowhat...

its a 1.8T if that means anything. thanks for the help..

Have you hooked up the VAGCOM yet?
Tried to do a throttle body adaption?
Check for vacuum leaks.

Yeah... what he said... I'll have my vag-com with me and I'm pretty familiar with the vacuum routing on the TT so we can look for leaks.

Tony, you've had you engine apart so many times you could do the lines with your eyes closed!

thanks tony for helping me with the VAGCOM.
