I wanted a ~1998 2.5 RS so bad, only bought my Golf because I couldn't find one to afford

in retrospect probably a good thing, chances are I would have had an amateur rally mishap in a Subaru.

i love that og scoobie so much. too bad they did not bring it here in that gen, instead of the bug eyed one we got now. still a great car just ugly. sorry chris!

You could always just buy the 2-door 2.5 RS in that year car and swap in the EJ20 unit and tranny from the current WRXs and it'd probably be close enough
