LOL

GJ isn't bad. It gets pretty hot in the summer and they don't get much snow. Seems to dump on Salt Lake then move over the Great Divide and dump again on Denver. I'm from Denver and wouldn't move back there now, no way, no how. Too damn crowded and a hell of a lot more expensive. Too many Californians moving there. :p And they don't have a sufficient highway system built to deal with all the traffic. It's a real mess there at rush hour.

Well maybe a road trip is needed.....I just don't think she's been anywhere besides the Beaches and Desert...I took her to New Orleans once :p

We have a few reasons for moving there. My parents live there and are getting up in age, so I want to be close. Tracy's parents are moving to Salt Lake this year, and my brother and sister still live in Denver. Conveniently located.

See, no forest... (taken from my dad's lot where he's building his house - will be done end of this year)

Travel a half hour east, then you get to see forest. This is taken at Rifle Falls. Caught a lot of tasty trout from the lake above the falls. Lots of good fishing and camping close by.

And a gratuitous shot of my dad's shed/garage. It was full last time I was out there, with his hot rods, a pop up camper, tools, boxes, etc. He had it done a few years before he even broke ground on the house. Yeah, he's got issues. :D

I'm not real keen on the idea of snow either; I'm a San Diego girl. But, the climate seems to be pretty temperate in Grand Junction. Reports from Dan's parents is that they get maybe an inch or two of snow a year.

Yeah, that's not the brightest thing to do...
The condo is close to the beach, though, so you get a nice onshore breeze, not like Orlando. The humidity doesn't feel as bad as thenumbers make it seem.

after ~ a year here now I've come to a very scientific and conclusive fact.

San Diegan's have a 8 degree comfort zone. 66F-74F below 66F people say its a bit chilly and below 60F its down right cold :) above 74F its a bit toasty and above 80F its down right hot!..... it pretty much goes for humidity also confort zone 25%-35% below 25% its dry and awful! above 35% its muggy sticky and miserable :D

All I can say is it rained for the last 2 weeks straight back in boston and for the second time this year the lake next to my Mom's house flooded into the street :( I'll take 90F and 40% humidity everyday

The weather is the only thing Southern California has going for it.
If it goes to hell, then they'll all have to come face to face with that fact.
Therefore, they have to complain when it's less than perfect.

I just wish I had AC at home. It was 88 degrees in my living room yesterday when I got home from work. I slept with the front door open last night to get a little cross ventilation and was able to get it down to 78 this morning, although it was already on the way back up before I left for work!
