Turn it to 93.5FM on the radio if you're into Hip-Hop/Old skool. It plays a variety of hip hop through the last 25 years. Unlike power & the beat which just plays the new stuff 'till it's played out. 93.5 Plays a new song, then like 3 olddies but goodies. Aparently KDAY was the 1st hip hop station in LA in the 80s. Enjoy while there's no commercials! :)
K-Day Is Back
Styles Media has flipped KZAB/Los Angeles to Rhythmic as "93.5 K-Day, Hip-Hop Today and Back in the Day." The new station will incorporate 25 years of hip-hop, including music from such old-school artists as N.W.A., Salt-N-Pepa, Run-DMC, 2Pac and Eric B & Rakim, along with current and classic songs by artists such as Jay-Z, 50 Cent, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg and more. Styles Media Chief Programming Officer Anthony Acampora was part of the brain trust that launched the new station. The station's namesake, the legendary KDAY-AM/Los Angeles was one of the first stations in the country to embrace hip-hop when the genre was just beginning to blossom in the early '80s. It went off the air April 17, 1991.
