I LIKE THE WAY YOU GUYS THINK! Well, I will be heading back to the states for leave in less than 3 weeks, so some of you should see me at a gtg or something.

Hey! That last pic was supposed to be my "where you live" photo topic pic. Can somebody put it on that thread so I can say I participated in at least one of the monthly photo topics? Please?!

Tips for sending care packages out there . . . as much as we aren't picky

Please don't send lemon lime gatorade . . . we had tons of it, and it tasted like pee water . . . please send new flavors like the rip tide ones!!

Candy that we get in our MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat) consist of skittles, tootsie rolls, jolly ranchers, on occasion a candy bar, a sports bar that looks like poo if you roll it up (we use them as pranks out there), starburts (if you send them, send the new flavors, no original please), and skittles (yes I put it twice for a reason). Please do not send them this, cause we are pretty tired of that crap!

Keep in mind, if your loved one is in an infantry unit, he may be moving around. I remember not getting any mail for the first 4 months I was there. And then when I did get care packages, they had been sitting in a connex box in 130 degree weather for weeks. So when you send us gummi things, and softer candies, they come as one blob!! We still liked them, so please send them. Send those things that we liked when we were at home. (My grandma sent me those Lichee Jelly Snacks, loved it). Be creative, but keep that in mind. If you send him alcohol, he might get in trouble. Besides, we found canned vodka before we found a clean water source when we were in Babylon!! What you should send him/her are creative ways to make alcohol from their MRE's. We used the crackers and peaches, and burried them in the sand for a wekk, that was the sh!t.

Magazines get used and abused out there. we are talking Maxim doesn't get used to look at girls (well maybe initially), but we have a lot of down time and will read every little comment, caption, front to back. These things start falling apart at the seam . . . so magazines are a huge plus. (porn is a no no, but it happens, maxim, FHM, if you do send them magazines like that, don't be surprised if they already have them, they sell it at the mobile PX's.

The most important package didn't come from anyone I knew. It came from a 12 year old boy that asked his dad what he could do to help. They put together care packages with toothbrushes, deoderant and wet wipes (wet wipes are heaven). He also included a little story about himself and a picture in his hockey uniform. Seriously . . . water works!! These are just a few tips . . . we aren't picky at all when we are out there, we love anything and everything. But these tips can make your care package that much more special!!

A lot of love goes out to my brothers that are still out there in Saddams Kitty Litter Box!! I wish everyone a safe trip home.

Also a BIG THANKS to all those that have loved ones away, and all of those that may not agree with this whole war thing, but have never stopped supporting the Troops!!
