I know you guys have the monthly contest, but I was thinking of athis old contest we used to do in a different forum I used to visit. We had a digi-cam scavenger hunt. Each month an admin would post a list of items that had to be photographed over the weekend and there was an item that had to be in all the pics to make sure the photo was recent and original.

If it's ok with the admins, maybe we could do something like that here? it can get pretty fun... you'll see if I get to put together a list of items :)

We did something like this quite some time ago. Someone requested a photo of two different items. The first person to post a pic of one of the items got to request the next picture. This is where the infamous picture of Mel and the spagetti came from. ;)

The format would be slightly different. In this case, there would be 10 items to photograph. I'm talking hard to find items. I like the idea of the winner coming up with the list for the following month.

Sounds like fun. One stipulation in the photo thread I mentioned was that the person taking the pic had to be in it. That showed that it was a new picture and not something found on the Net.

Sounds good, but it might be kinda hard to have the photog be in every picture. Maybe something stupid like you have to put your watch somewhere in the scene in each photo or something to that effect.

That's why there will be a designated item that must be in the pic.
IE- purple lighter or baseball

Can we make thse items non location specific . . . it would be hard for me to shoot a pic of some La Jolla sign if I'm in San Jose!!

Not specifically to me, but so that out of towners can join in on the fun.
