Susan and my parents are going to be at Farrells tomorrow at 2pm to say goodbye to a beloved piece of our childhoods.

Its located in the shopping center on the corner of Camino Ruiz and Mira Mesa Blvd on the camino ruiz side of Target and Fuddruckers.

It may be crowded as it is closing on Monday.

Have you been while an adult ? It's pretty miserable. I went to lunch there one day and it bummed me out. The one thing I will miss are the jawbreakers in the candy section.

OMG, I didn't know they were closing... maybe Rob and I will swing by later tonight. I had my 4th and 8th birthday parties there... :(

Yea, I've been to the Mira Mesa location sevaral times. The candy section is pretty pathetic by comparison to the HUGE Farrell's that used to exist in La Mesa when I was a kid. But I had to go for just one more Lime Freeze. It hasn't been on the menu in years, but they still make it if you ask for it. :D

awwww boo! i used to go to the Farrell's @ UTC shopping mall. mira mesa is my hood!!! but coudln't make it because i was in the Bay all weekend. how was it? did i miss anything?

From talking to the employees, there is still one more chance to visit your favorite childhood ice cream parlor. Today is the final day they are open.

theres an ice cream place in PB next to longboards that does some lime flavoved coke ...tastes pretty good actually

Nope not even close. A lime freeze is basically lime sherbet and sprite in a blender, then top it with wipped cream.
