I didn't get a chance to meet everyone last night, but i was wondering what wheel brands some of the Audi guys were running...lots of 3"+ lips. I'm really torn between going with a 19" with a lip or keeping my 18" stocks and powdercoating them.
Would just like to check out some options.

budget?
:)
I would prefer not to pay 1g per wheel if i can help it.
I'm considering these for $350/wheel with paint to match my Nordkap leather interior....but always liked the lip....

I also have to worry about the staggering with the AWD. I don't know if the Volvo Haldex system is forgiving as the Audio AWD.

You might want to talk to Gary @ Ronal just to see if he wants to sell that set prepainted, seeing how it's his car and all. ;)

if you're going to lower your car, you don't want to stagger your wheels at all.
IMO; the pegasus wheels are the best looking wheels for the R -- the R doesnt look that great with a lip -- wheels with the spokes flush with the outside of the rim look best. the only downside is that the stock pegasus wheels are extremely heavy [about 31 lbs per wheel for the 18", and about 27 for the 17"]
because of this, when i get some money together, i'm springing for the VST super monoblock in 18" for maximum weight reduction [18lbs per wheel!]

iPD has the monoblocks and super monoblocks in silver 18" for about 600 and 900, respectively. if you want 19's they go up to about $1k per wheel.the monoblocks are a tad heavier, but still tons lighter than the stock pegs. the super monoblocks are extremely light. they also come in titanium gray, for about $100 more per wheel.

Iv'e spoken with Gary already. He sells the painted Nordkap's for $350 each which is a steal IMO.

I know they're heavy and I do like that the 18's with flush spokes give a bigger appearance. The other downside to getting a lip is I would have to 19" to keep the same look.
Like I said, my alternative right now is powdercoating the stock Pegs in a metallic anthrecite. That charcoal R with the Ronal Nordkap RT's is so nice..perfect match!

mine are iforged flux.
big lips are sexy, can't go wrong with big lips, look at angelina jolie, as long as they're not too big.:D:p
anyway here's a quick p-chop of my wheels on that silver s60.
i personally think it looks damn good.
btw what's your bolt pattern? 5x108?

yeah...5x108
now that's a beautiful thing. would be about 19" to get that look. other concern is clearing the brembo brakes. i'll have to check what the min. offset is for clearance.
thanks for the info and PS...

wrong bolt pattern :/
yup, and more bling than what I'm looking for. they are nice though! maybe on a benzo
The Volvo has hard lines that give them a sporty look (Like the BMW 3 series). You cannot go wrong with a tuner style wheel (iforged, HRE, etc) or if you opt to have a more refined look, a classy five spoke never goes out of style.
I am not familiar with 5X108 but what are your choices?
To me the ronal's look great, but if you are lusting for the lip, you will have buyers remorse with the ronals. You will buy it for the price but later end up beating yourself for not getting the lip.
I am thinking axis Milano's will look killer on your car, but I am not sure they have it at that bolt pattern.

the VST wheels are hot !! however, as i remember, they too are fairly heavy
I dont believe they are 18 lbs
I was looking at the VST's for my 850 Turbo wagon, and i believe they were more like 26lb range
but i could be wrong
the Pegasus are by far the nicest OEM volvo wheels, which is what i was running on my 850t. But they are damn heavy
Good luck !! the Axxis Hiro wheels are hot

Wow...good call on Axis...I love some of their wheels.
The Wide Track is awesome!

One of the big no-no's I've heard is running staggered tire sizes on the Haldex AWD. This setup would let us stagger the lip and run the same tires all the way around. That would be awesome!
I sent Axis an e-mail. We'll see if they respond. The AWD volvo guys would eat 'em up if they made 5x108s!

Good luck !! the Axxis Hiro wheels are hotthe monoblock R's are R-specific. they're either cast aluminum or forged aluminum, depending on which way you go [less expensive, but heavier for the cast, and almost double the price, but lighter, for hte forged aluminum]
IPD reports that the 18" cast monoblocks are 21.6 lbs, but people have weighed and they usually say round up to the nearest pound, so theyre about 22, versus the 18" pegs which are damn near 30, if not over [ive heard anything from 28-31 lbs]. The super monoblocks [forged] in 18 are reported at 18.7, but theyve been weighed at about 19.
i may go with the cast 18"s at 595 per wheel as opposed to the forged ones at nearly double; $995/wheel. Even if the cast ones are heavier at 22 lbs, im shaving at least 6-9 lbs per corner, which is good :)
i'd go 19", but you know...the whole rotating mass thing.

wow, for some reason i was reading on VS that the cast ones were 25+ lbs *shrugs*
but yes, i agree Pegs are heavy ... i picked mine up with no tire on, and it felt like 28+ lbs
i love my BBS RS-GT =) ... 21lbs for 19x8.5

Axis made some wheels for Evolve Cars for the R cars
Must have been a marketing thing, cuz they just replied to my e-mail saying they will never produce a 5x108 bolt pattern, for many reasons...whatever that means.
Oh well...

Alba Wheels in Cerritos makes 5x108's.
Kinda liked these:

19x8.5" with a +38, which is what I think the 18" pegs are. Only bad part is they only come chrome.

LIARS! :P lol only in 5-spoke though, no lip/dish. Actually, In the beginning Axis _did_ make these, but im not sure if evolve uses them anymore; they may have found someone else to produce them for them, because they even used to come with the "axis" stamped in on one of the spokes.

One of the guys on the Stratus boards had his rims made by HvyDeez in Montclair:
http://www.hvydeez.com/index.php
They will make them to any specs you want and any color combo (powder, chrome, black chrome, polished, paint, etc.) They said they can do any bolt pattern and will make them any offset and lip size as long as they will fit.
A little spendy: $2250 for a set of 2-peice, $3100 for a set of 3-peice.
Might be worth it to get the exact fit though....not sure on the weight. Forgot to ask.

Has anyone ever had the Axis wheels. I was looking at the Milano for my Ml320 truck. Just wondering about them.
