Ok, Group5 will be hosting a fun Go-karting event for SoCalEuro.

Date: Saturday Sept 16th
Time: 5pm - 7pm
Location: Miramar Speed Circuit

Okay..I talked to Jared and there is a track rental and a few Grand prix events so Saturday the 16th is gonna be a better day. I locked it down to start at 5pm and go til 7pm.

The plan so far is:
1. 2 for 1 races courtesy of Miramar speed circuit
2. Group 5 will supply pizza for everyone
3. Group 5 will have some raffle items
4. Group 5/miramar speed circuit will be giving away some free race passes http://www.miramarspeedcircuit.com
5. $25.00 gift certificate to Detail works (automotive detail shop) http://www.detailworks.com
6. Prize for fastest lap of the day
7. Sun Automobile will be giving away a Hyper voltage kit and a hyper ground kit http://www.sunautomobile.com
8. Dent Time will be giving away free dent removal on one panel of your car (dents must be business card size or smaller) http://www.denttime.com
9. Gift certificate for free window tinting on 3 back windows from Solar care http://www.solarcareinc.com (some restrictions apply)
10. 4 gift certificates for sets of stealth bulbs from Stealth auto http://www.stealthauto.com (gift certs. will be redemable at Group 5 Motorsport)

Troy at Group 5 and the gang @ Miramar Speed Circuit are hooking us all up for this event. Troy set it all up so be sure to thank him for his efforts and the vendors for their generosity.

We will have access to one of the large rooms and I don't believe the track is rented completely, just that we have been offered a great 2 for 1 deal.

I've got a free pass to dromo1 i'm gonna be using pretty soon to. anyone been there? i went this last sunday, but it was booked solid for like 6 hours. looked pretty sweet there.

Hey...No fair. I have only driven the new track 3 times.
If it was the old track I would agree...30.98 and proud of it. Maybe it was the countless hours spent on that track..okay your right..now that would have been cheating.

Yeah..what a fun car!! They let me drive one around town and it was a blast!
It is an oversized go kart!

The rally is a cool deal also..lots of sick cars already entered--porsche carrera gt's Ferrari's,Lambo's,etc etc. Plus the food,gift bag, and the free driving time at K1 speed.

i've had a shifter kart for a while now...but i never really made an announcement or anything...doubt that many people actually knew about it....it's friggin AWSOME....

100 mph 2" from the ground is amazing....and it lives right at the track so all I have to do is make a phone call and the kart is all setup and ready to run when I get there:smokem:

With the new tracl layout there are a few corners that weight helps hold you down and keeps you from sliding..I weigh 195lb and last night I beat a 135lb guy that drives pretty well. the straight sections are where the weight comes into play so exit speed out of the corners is key. slower into the corners and accelerate early out of the corners.

The carts are different. They aren't as big as the K1 carts and these ones are gas powered, not electric.
