Lmmffao!!!!
The EPC light means something is wrong in the drive-by-wire path, the "gas pedal" potentiometers or the electric motor-controlled throttle body, etc. I do not know if that relay qualifies, and I'm not even 100% sure what it does without research, but I assume it powers the ECM up when the ignition is on. Certainly the ECM is part of the electronic power control system, but I don't know if faults with the ECM are going to light the EPC light rather than the check-engine light.
When the car is having this problem, does the check-engine light come on with the rest of the lights when you just turn on the ignition without starting the car? It should, if it doesn't, the ECM may not be alive.

the epc light is intermittant sometimes it comes on and sometimes it doesnt come on... the radio doesnt work either... the check engine light only comes on with key turned on and the epc light will go off with it set like that after like 30 seconds or so... any ideas?
side note: what does lffmmao mean?

Mine came on simply because my caster needed adjusting. You may want to have your camber caster-toe adjusted.

Too be honest. Your best first diagnosis is always a VAG-Com. Here is the bad part though. When I got an EPC light, it was a bum relay under the hood and the VAG-Com didn't work all the time with the car because of it.
Don't get mad at people for telling you to use a VAG-Com. They are trying to get enough information to try to give you a reasonable idea of what to fix. No one wants to come on here and make a stab in the dark at what might be wrong with your car only to be wrong and have you waste money.
I asked one of our members at a Denny's meet a few years back what he thought might be wrong with my car in the same manner you just asked. He closed his eyes, put his hand to his head, and hummed. I asked him what he was doing and he said he was trying to talk to my car but he was having trouble with his psychic abilities. You can be damn sure I had more information the next time I asked him.
Good luck getting the issue fixed.

Does she have a homelink visor? It shorts out sometimes and can make all kinds of goofy electrical things happen.

your right bout the vag my bad on that one... no she doesnt have that visor... when i checked the car just now i cant make the epc light come back on and it goes away when it should with the cel light... but her radio doesnt work and the fuse is good... told her to go have the codes read and i know it needs a tune up since she hasnt had one done in 64000 miles other than just oil change... any other simple things to check?

You can check the ignition coil, and I've heard that a faulty speed senor can also trip you EPC. Good luck mang....

If the light is coming off and on, then that means it's a "soft error" which means it's not a critical problem with the car. You can check it with the VAG even with the light off, the codes will still be there.
There are several things it could be but I will hold off on diagnosing it without the VAG readings.

Its not a CEL though... its an EPC.
Mine went on and off too. It was a flakey relay.

Oh okay ... he mentioned the CEL was on and off too, so I just lumped the two together.
Either way, the car needs to be VAG'd for an accurate diagnosis.
