Definitely. The latch is only as strong as to what it is mounted to.

Carbon fiber hoods tend to twist a bit more than the OEM hood and can let air under them which lifts them. Some of them are more prone to this than others so its up to you. If it were me, I would watching the front corners of the hood to see if they move around too much for my own comfort while I'm driving. Hood pins are cheap piece of mind. Not everyone has them and not everyone needs them but I would feel better with them if it were my car.
In anycase, I'm bummed I'm not going to be at this weeks north county GTG to see the car with the new hood.

depends on the brand and how snug the fit is. I'm on my 2nd eurogear hood and the stock latch is fine. snug fit with no noticeable flexing. i'm only on my 2nd cause i crashed a lil while back and messed up the hood.

yeah, so i washed the car...noticed some things
feels like the latch will hold, it seems really tight when its locked down
the fit isn't perfect
not sure if i should use the hood damper (it might make the side bulge more, see pic)
i have to push in the hood a couple of times, in order to lock it down, i might have to adjust it some more.
bubbles in the clear coat (just a few)
some swirl marks
big kicker, i think i know why he sold it to me for 200$
looks like the clear coat is starting to fade
the edges of the hood is higher, alittle more than a 1/4" higher

learned a few things:
pictures can hide a few things especially taking them in the shade
never buy at night
if it looks too good to be true, it is...
do more research!!!
keep the stock hood, yes i still have it :D

ask gti01 about hood latch. over time you will have to start to have to slam the hood.

if its one of the EG cf hoods u got then yea mine has the same problem with the latch catching.....i kinda gotta slam it down a lil hard for it to lock. but for the record the latches are pretty sturdy..i drove from riverside to DTMautohaus goin like 65-75 the whole way no problem but get hoodpins! can never be to safe

Thats what I was thinking.
Buff it and slap some carnuba on that and you'll be looking good.
For 200 bucks... its hard to go wrong.
