Few friends and I are planning on heading up to the mountains in two weeks. was just up at Big Bear last week and it was a blast. There is a lot of room to get lost out there and the camping was good.

I figured I would throw this out now so anyone could keep thier calender clear if you wanted to come. Let me know what you think.

Leave Friday early am! and return Saturday evening

Jason Get the 35's back on Maybe Paul would want to break the FJ in a bit?

grr... sounds like a blast.. but I need a couple of toys for the FJ before I will be comfortable beating on it (sliders and skid plates). Just incase I get stupid.

We are def not going crazy as you can see in the pic Joe's Tires have seen better days and the street performace tread isn't that great either :)

He's got 16" steelies waiting for tires but prob won't have them by next weekend, it will be a lesurely drive if interested :)

Let me know how it does Paul, I've been wanting one for awhile, i just dont like the Forced package options. The aftermarket is gonna blow up for these. I think Specter Off Road and Man-a-fre already have parts for them

Paul
08-29-2006, 06:06 PM
Oh the aftermarket is already huge and getting larger by the day. SOR, Donahue Racing, etc. Hell they already took a modified FJ up rubicon and back.

Has Downey done anything yet?

How is the gas mileage?

I should bring the FJ60 out, rust and all

And Jonelle, if you and Rob wanna go you can ride with me.

mileage sucks... mostly city driving = 13mpg! WOOHOO :D And premium no less.

I was actually thinking of bringing the truck, but bringing bikes and riding instead... we'll see. Gotta talk to Rob first. And, that weekend is a large Filipino Arts & Culture Festival in San Pedro.

Thats another reason I've been holding off, I could still justify the GTI as a daily driver, but not an FJ to sit until the weekend. I commute 25 Miles a day not too bad but still that would be double the gas.

I've got a bike rack that mounts to your hitch if you'd like to borrow it for the trip.

FJ isn't bad when you're on the freeway.. It also depends if you're getting the manual or auto, significant diff in mileage.

Sweet! I might have to take you up on that offer... That way, we can fit at least 2 more people who might want to be passengers in your truck...

I'm down for some leisurely rides... I'm a noob to riding trails. And I need to get a helmet still. I'll talk to Rob and see what up... like I said, there's a Filipino Arts & Culture Festival that weekend, and a friends baby shower on the Sunday.
