I would run the lightest spring that can hold boost to the specs of your chip or stock ECU because theoretically you want your bypass valve to react as quickly as possible to prevent compressor surge.

Now, I'm not even a VW or Audi owner, but from what i've been hearing for years now, you want a Diverter valve, not a blowoff valve. Reason being that a BOV vents air that would normally be recirculated into the intake side of your engine. Losing this air means that you will have lowered the ratio of air to fuel, or a "rich" condition, which can lead to all sorts of nasty problems.

running the HKS bov for 3 years now, swapped out my spark plugs just recently, and they were tan/brown in color, meaning they were just worn. they weren't black, wet and flakey meaning i would be running rich. and yes im chipped.

well on my bov, iam running the recirculation hose that returns it to the intake. that should be okay, right?

yeah that works. not sure how to adjust the greddy bov to make sure it holds the correct amount of boost.

well i know that u use a philips screw driver, so i can adjust the hardness/ softness.
my question is how do i KNOW when i have set it right?

When it doesn't flutter when you let off at full boost. For faster boost response you want it cranked down, but you're on the stock turbo, so boost recovers quick pretty much no matter what.

yo thanx for the tip!
hey, i see that u have a turbo upgrade, is it "not so expensive" to maintain the car? any random complications?

I don't consider myself very mechanically inclined...25k on the kit and the car's never been to a shop. There's lots of random things that have gone bad, but it's never left me stranded on the road. Once you get 'er running right, it's just the typical stuff.
It ain't cheap, though. Whatever you think you're going to pay, add at least a thousand.

i bet!
just wondering and i guess getting an opinio form some one who has done it, not heard from or read.
and ofcourse, considering that if i ever do some like that, it would still be my daily driver.
thanx for the info!
