so i replaced the brake pads on my car yesterday and found that the guy before me used the wrong pads (which is why it still felt like my pads were good but they weren't) so anyways i get the new pads and put them on (after much frustration) and now my brake pad sensor light is on! wtf??? it never lit up when my pads were horrible but now i put new ones on and they light up? i even tried clearing the code with a vag but it doesn't read as a code.. anyone have any insight into this?? TIA! :smokem:

Try removing the pad, shorting the connector and see if the light goes away.

If it does, then you've got a pad with a broken wire internal to the pads.
Contact the manufacturer or dealer you got them from for a warranty replacement.

what do you mean to short the connector? oh btw i met a guy in autozone that couldn't find the parts he needed for his gti so i referred him to your site so you should be hearing from him soon (forgot to get his name ><)

pull the connection from the brake pad, then use a peice of wire or stuff some aluminum foil into the connector just to check and see if the brake pad sensor light goes off on your car. If it does, it means that you have faulty wires coming from the pad and have them replace it...yo :)

I concur short the connector if it goes away keep it that way.... as alot of aftermarket pads doen't even have a wear sensor
