Anyone know the difference between the KW Variant 2 coilovers for the Corrado SLC and the MK3 Jetta GLX, the part numbers are different. The bilstein sports shocks that I had on my old rado were the same as the Mk3 VR's (same p/n from Autotech).

Would the spring rates be different, or the valving? They should bolt right up.

Hmmm, thats a good question, did you check the KW website?

Yeah, that's where I noticed the part#'s were different. Maybe I'll have to contact KW directly:(

The spring rates are the same. It looks like the threaded body is different because the corrado goes .2 inches lower. KW likes to build their kits vehicle specific, so the mkiii vr6 kit could work but they like to have a specific part number for each application.

What "lbvr6" said is correct. Either one will bolt up and work.

So, do you think spring rates and valving are the same if they are built vehicle specific?

Sorry, I should have clarified, I have the KW's installed on my GLX, they came from an SLC, so I know that they bolt up. I was just wondering, performance wise, if they perform the same?

There may be slight valving differences on the V1's but not the V2's as they are adjustable. I don't think the spring rates are different either.

Cheers, Travis

Just verified, spring rates are the same.

i would figure the main difference is the travel of the coilover, for height adjustability

what Travis has stated is the info ya needed

Thanks guys, guess I just need to set them up a little better> Too bad I have to disconnect the rears to adjust the dampening, I think they're at 3/4 stiff. The fronts feel good at about the same stiffness
