Guy wants to trade 19"s straight for OEM wheels.

Not bad at all.

Someone should jump on it.

Interested...do you have a close pic of the wheels? just wondering if they are powder coated black, like in the pic?

It aint my ad.

Hence "Guy wants to trade 19"s straight for OEM wheels"

And my suggestion of "someone should jump on it"

Figure if the guy is trading in or the lease is up, he needs OEM gear....

Please post the results.

You owe me a beer if it happens :)

i am checking these out tomorrow! :) i hope he is down for the trade. he wants stock wheels because this used to be his son's car. he doesn't want all the aftermarket stuff that is on it. he said he hates the exhaust haha. if he wants to get rid of anything else, i will let everyone know for sure.

So I'm writing in good faith as I met some v good people today and passing the karma along!

I went to see this guy, i saw the ad, waht a jack ass. He's like 40-50s rude white dude, he said 2 tires needed replacing and rears were fine.

Went there and all 4 were slashed, so I said, I was goign to offer 200 plus my rims and tires bec my tieres were worn. So i said, i'll give u 150 bec ur rears are worn as well, he went off and got mad at me for hassling him. i told him well u were the one who said 2 tires, now its for so its fair game and he went off on a rant. anyways so we agree on 200 and he got mad when i proposed to split the cost of swapping, he shouted how you are hassling me again.

i should have walked away, but i'm stupid and wanted rims too much, so we went a shop, i think jim or jimmy's tires in same clemente, 911 pico blvd. AWESOME people who saved me. they took the wheels apart and the inside on them were all chewed up. i decided to think man what did i get myself into and was intimidated too mcuh by the guy bec i just handed him the cash already. stupid me.

George at the shop saved me. 1st off he knew i could not drive back to la like that, no wonder this guy keeps an air pump in his trunk, to fill up the tires. so i thought 200 for rims is still good, BUT even the people at the shop were disgusted, one we took off was bent, didn't even rotate right. so they said it was liability so bascially pressured the guy to give me my money back.

so this guy then turns nice and says, hey we can do swap ourselves, the same guy who got all pissed at me for splitting the cost of swap. What a class act. and then he said, on the lip part is no big deal, yea right, no wonder the air probably seeps out of the tires. he claims the car wash slit his tires

Anyways those guys saved me and moral is no such thing as a free lunch. SOmeone will get ripped off, i just hope its no one on the board. wasted 4 hours of my life, we live and learn.

yea if you want to replace some bits it could be worth while, but u need 4 new tires, be careful bec the rims were made to fit, bec they know the wheel people, normally they only make 20 inches up, so i dont know how easy it would be to fix.

just wanted to pass on the good karma.

oh man that sucks. sorry to hear that. i actually met up with this guy right before you did and he said he had another person coming after. he told me to call him later in the evening for his decision. his tires were pretty messed up for sure. he told me something else other than a car wash causing it. the wheels looked alright other than one being curbed as fuck. i couldn't tell about the insides being all messed too. i'm sorry you had to go through that crap. he seemed nice when i met him but kind of shifty. something was just off. he said his dad or someone in the family owned the wheel company as well. also, he was trying to tell me that two of my tires looked worn when they didn't at all. i'm glad the guys at the shop saved you. no one deserves that shit. shouldibuy: you should come down sometime for one of the gtgs. we have one at dennys every month and barnes & noble. hope to meet you some day.

Thanks guys, I tried to seach about the gtg but couldn't figure out exactly where it was.

I guess beacuse I went down to see him after you he stiffed you over and tried to cut a deal with me instead. The tires were OK on outside compared to what I saw on the inside man. The whole tire was coming apart on the insides, the walls were torn out from the contact thread pattern. Imagine even the guys at the shop were disgusted. They said its his driving like a mad ass as well and hitting something, no other way could it have been like that for no reason.

Sorry you wasted your time as well, we live and we learn!!!

so the rims itself are in bad condition or was it just the tires??

Rim was bent on the inside, as in it did not even rotate properly, they were about to put it in a machine to check it but just spun it before they put the machine on to spin the wheel and even at slow speed it was wabolly, so they didn't even bother to turn the machine on.

I mean if you guys trade, its ok just be aware that the lip needs to be replaced on at least one of them, and bring 4 spare tires to drive home safely. So for rims that aren't that great to begin with, it may end up costing more than just looking for good 2nd hand deals on the board.
