Does anyone know how to replace headgasket 01 passat 1.8t..

AS the title states...my roomate blew his headgasket...on his 01 passat with 72k...so this past weekend. I pretty much removed everything thats in the way. All i gotta basically do is remove the T-belt and head stud bolts..and i think that should be it..is there a VW DIY site that i can look up...much help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

I've never seen a writeup for a head gasket on a 1.8T. Thats one of those jobs in the "if you need a write up don't do it yourself" category since its still a fairly new/expensive powerplant for people to be tinkering with. Its just barely becoming more common for people to replace their timing belts themselves.

Do you have a Bentley Manual for the car? That will help quite a bit.

Hopefully someone has seen a writeup on vortex or something that they can link up for you.

If you want to do it yourself, buy or borrow a Bentley manual. After that, you'll do fine if you're mechanically inclined.
