Kinda hard to get into the tuning end because there isn't much stuff out there.......but this is my shot at it.

Yup. Saab's are beautiful. Ive always liked the 9-5 and the 9-3 design ... and personally wouldnt mind picking up a 9-2x myself ;)

if only there was an "STI" version HAHAHAHA; nice Saab by the way. That red color is oooooh soooo purdy! :D You can always get some nice wheels/tires for it, lower it on some Eibach suspension kit, and install a Supersprint exhaust. I know there's not much you can do but it's a start! Plus you can almost guarantee that no one else will have a car like yours :)

Which engine? There's quite a bit of stuff just not in this country. Check into some swede sites.

Actually I was seriously buying a Saab 9-3 Aero before I got my A4. It handles really well and the brakes are awesome.

i drove the 9-3 Aero and felt the handle was decent, but the turbo lag was pretty harsh

i just loved the look and the overall package

Well.......I do have BBS RKII on it with powdercoated centers and I have also put the BSR re-programmer on it so now I have 250hp and 287lb/ft so it gets up and goes now. First gear is still a let down but once I hit second and third it takes off pretty nicely. I am still waiting on going to stage 3 with a 3" downpipe and full exhaust.

keep us posted.

I know the saab's have plenty of potential, but not many people mod them
i use to have a Volvo, and there were a lot of shops that did work on both volvos and saab's

by the way, where you located?

I had a 900 turbo in 95, that was one fun car, it was very quirky, like it had to be in reverse to get the key out. but it did move. :)

Hey Moviestar,

Those used to be an option on the 9-5 AERO. They're pretty hard to find. Don't know why they discontinued it because they're sweet looking. I like how you've powdercoated them black. REally matches your car. Have you tried looking at genuinesaab.com. I think they have some stuff for the 9-3. Keep up the good work.

Nice... My parents neighbors have a Saab and its a beautiful car. They must wax that thing every other day.

Thats a hot color. Good choice in rims too. There will be more and more stuff for Saab and Volvo here in the states as more and more young people buy them. Maybe you can find a tuner that wants to expand into Saabs and get yourself some deals on new stuff as a test car.

yeah i test drove the 9-3 but was dissapointed in the amount of turbo lag. I give a bit of that to the auto tranny on the one I test drove but still...anyway, I'm sure there's somethings you could do like a down pipe to get the turbo to spool faster. :)

Cool car and awesome color!
I like Saab and have always had a soft spot for the weird ignition switch placement and other things, hopefully G.M. see's fit to leave all their cool quirks alone and not turn Saab into another rebadged GM shit pile.

With all the choices for turbos out there, there should be NO excuse for measurable lag. I find this disapointing in Saab.

They could easily raise the compression, pick a turbo with a bit smaller AR and have a very responsive 200-250hp car.

I've put a K&N filter and that helped lessen the lag a little. But, on those hot days, that lag is really noticable. Nothing's worse than making a left turn into a busy intersection and the car's totally bogging in first.... then the BOOST kicks in.... a real jekyl & hyde.
