I'm very concerned about the people on this site. When I first met some of you it was all about Auto X and Track Events. Now all I see is a bunch of shows, GTG and soap opera threads. What happened to the trash talkin "see you at the track" kind of stuff. Don't get me wrong I like a nice show car as much as the next guy, but from what I've seen not to many of you own trailer queens. Our cars are designed / built to be driven hard and to look good doing it. Most of you have modded your cars and 90% of those mods are for performance, why not see of they work and use them as they are intended. I dont mean for some street kill, or light to light stupidity, take them to the track for some good safe fun.
So let me stand on record to challenge everyone who reads this, on behalf of your cars and their heritage. Before you buy another monitor, dvd player or the latest carbon fiber bling bling, get a set of tires instead.

:) i still may go.. but $ isn't all that good right now. Julie is going, Shawn is going, all the die hards are going. YOu will never get a show car owner to the track, just won't happen.

Hey Paul, hope you can make it.
Like I said I haven't seen or heard of many show cars in the group. I also just wanted to stir things up a bit while making a point.

Correction, I am "most likely) not going

Since my car needs a head gasket, which means I would need a rental car+hotel=$$$$
As long as Rich is set for instructors (which he said last night he was) I will be home saving money for the money pit, I mean S4, heh.
One of these days we'll have one of the cars prepped enough to pull track duty so this won't happen to me anymore!

Sean, I dont even try here anymore. Those who want to race and are serious about it will always find us. Everybody says they want to come out and play but nobody ever really does. :)

That was the whole reason for starting Racerfactory, to give VW/Audi enthusiasts a place to go and hang out together and drive hard. Now our euro numbers are dwindling and the other makes are comming out in force. So be it.

I wouldn't mind taking my car to an autocross, but my clutch is bad and yes I need a different set or rims/tires.

I'd race mine in a heartbeat, but there's nowhere to race here :p

Thats why we go to Pahrumph. Great technical track to learn on, safe environment if you drive a little beyond your means. You got to really screw up to hurt your car off track. The only really questionable aspect of having a fun weekend is your cars current mechanical condition. If its questionable, the track will show you exactly whats wrong. Few people have been forced to leave their car behind.

We also have done events at Buttonwillow (Where Dubwars is at) as well as other locations. Check the web site for the schedule for upcomming events.

I've have two word that would explain why: RON WOODS The only person I've ever met that has exceeds the hipe that has proceeded him. You too Shawn I've seen you with your hands dirty more than once. But your rep sucks, :ha: He's saved my bacon a few times, and thats why he has my next motor in his shop right now.
Jewel, sorry to hear the S4 is down again, you will be missed.
Paul, if you need a place to stay I maybe able to help. I'll IM you.

I would go, but what if I scratch my new rims? Or get a paint chip? Besides I'm saving my cash for 2 12's and a nice stereo setup.

I'll stick to racing on the streets.!!

I have come to find the people i most like, spend their time at the tracks and not at shows. I enjoy the company and stories from old racers and the way they except the younger crowd coming out to race volkswagens. Everyone is willing to lend a hand to who ever needs help after they brake or ask for useful advice, whether they like them or not. It is my therapy with good people.

Ron Wood is my hero! :D

What!?!? You dont like seeing a Mark 4 with CoilOvers, Sway bars, race rubber, roll cage, racing seats, 5point harness, gauges galore and a 300lbs Stereo system in the back?!?!?

You must be crazy!
