im interested in gettin my car chipped.. and so far im pretty much looking into POWER that supposedly adds about 14 - 18 hp.. i know they barely make anything for my car at the moment... dinan just came out with a throttle body for my car too.. but im mostly looking to chip it. is there anything else available for my car? anything else i could do that wouldnt cost so much either? alot of people have just been telling me to empty my cat and/or get headers but i still have the warranty... opinions and suggestions please. peace

reprogramming the ecu will normally void your warranty too....

i haven't seen much out yet for the newer N52 or any of the newer engines w/ Valvetronic. I think your options for aftermarket performance products are limited for a few more years. My engine is the M54 3.0L (2001-2005) and it wasn't until recently that there were more aftermarket options.

also, about the warranty: aftermarket ECU tuning will void the warranty on parts that fail due to the ECU tuning or whatever aftermarket tuning was done. It doesn't void everything. If you reprogrammed your ECU and then you found out your shocks were leaking, you can get your suspension worked on under warranty. also, to deny warranty, they have to be able to prove that the problem was caused by your aftermarket tuning. they can detect a reprogrammed ECU, but if you de-programmed it when you do a warranty claim, no one will know that you had done anything to it. Hence, the reason I like the Shark Injector because you can always de-program it in 20 min at home.
