1995 BMW M3
Red exterior
Black leather interior
Car has luxury package including wood trim, power seats, top of line radio & 5 disc changer
Luxury package deletes rear wing and front splitter
Mileage 138500
Car has been absolutely reliable and is still absolutely solid
Personally speed tested to 157MPH and it was great!
Personally received speeding ticket for over 120mph in Texas – that sucked
Power train improvements include:
Auto Authority Stage III Chip ( 95 is last year of OBD1 and still uses a replaceable chip)
Auto Authority cold air induction with K&N Filter
Over size throttle body
Supersprint race header and high flow exhaust all the way back
Supersprint DTM style Muffler ( the car sounds bitch'n)
The car was rates stock at 240HP (Crank)
It last chassis dynoed at 245HP (Rear wheels)
Estimated 300 to 310 hp at crank
In a straight drag race with a new M3 I have only ever been pulled a fender length up to 110mph.
No internal engine modifications at all
Chassis improvements:
X brace from convertible M3
Strut tower brace
Bilstien Sport Dampers
Eibach Pro kit springs
Racing Dynamics adjustable sway bars front and rear
Adjustable end links front and rear
Urethane bushings on ARBs and rear upper shock mounts
Brembo cross drilled rotors all around
Fikse light weight billet wheels
New tires and alignment about 6 months ago
Car is solid overall but needs a little TLC as any 11 year old car might. Here are the known items:
Rear bumper paint cracked (previous / original owner backed into a pole in a parking lot)
I have never had any sort of incident with the car
Rims have minor dings from a massive pot hole encountered at high speed while running from a tornado in Houston in 1999. They are fixable.
I suspect it will need a clutch in the next 18 months. It still has the original clutch and it is great, no slipping at all but the pedal is getting a little high.
Minor ding in hood from hail (again in Texas) can be easily removed with paintless dent repair
The carpet shows a little wear but it has factory M3 floor mats and still looks good inside.
Shifter is a little loose. An upgrade to a short throw would fix that J
The single biggest problem is the reason I will need to sell it. I can't pass emissions in CA. It barely passed the sniff test in Texas. The chip and exhaust really fatten it up off idle for improved throttle response and the emissions test always fail it. You may be able to get a stock chip and swap it in. It may be enough to pass non-CA emissions. Anyway, you're on your own with that one.
Asking price is 10,500.
The emissions issue is workable, not too concerned about that, just looking for input from those with E36 M3 experience.
