So let me paint a picture - coolant light goes on, check coolant, level is low, coolant looks old and murky, could probably use a flush (almost 95k miles)...guess I'll try to flush the system myself! Jack up car, take off splash guard, get under car, open the drain valve, and only drain about 1/3rd the amount of coolant in the system. What is the deal with that? Realize there's a lot more to this procedure than I thought, ran out of time, eyed a 50/50 mix of distilled water and G12, filled the coolant back up. Sweet. Totally unnecessary waist of time and money.
So i figure that there's no harm done. Or is there? Should I be getting my car to a shop ASAP for a flush so I have the right ratio of water/coolant? Or is it pretty minor, and as long as I didn't use shitty water or the wrong coolant, and was as close to 50/50 as possible, I should be fine?
