Primedia has the following position open in our Operations Group and invites qualified applicants to submit their resume indicating their interest in the following position:
Copy Editor— Rod & Restoration Group
Placentia, CA
Job summary:
• Reads and corrects all manuscript copy.
• Contacts the appropriate personnel, both internally and externally, to determine the accuracy of the manuscript and to research the factual information.
• Tracks the flow of copy through the Editorial and Art Departments, notifying the appropriate personnel of the status of the copy.
• On a daily basis, read manuscripts, galleys, layouts, and bluelines to ensure consistent style, clarity, accuracy, readability and correctness of grammar throughout the publication. Utilizes a dictionary, Internet resources, and a style guide as needed.
Qualifications:
English/journalism degree preferred. Minimum of one-year job related experience. Proficiency with QuarkXpress. Detail orientated. Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
