Welcome to GRXCAR, the ultimate challenge. GRX is a made-for-TV show contest where real people compete in a 6,000-mile once-in-a-lifetime driving adventure. GRX puts you in the driver’s seat for two weeks of high-octane car racing, travel and entertainment. You'll charge out on the highways and racetracks across America in highly modified, sport-tuned compact cars while facing outrageous racing challenges. 24 players will be selected to play in the first series, which goes into production in August 2007.
GRX is a physical and mental challenge, pitting 8 teams of 3 complete strangers together, racing in multiple motorsports competitions. Players will take the ride of a lifetime where they will experience video-game like thrills in real driving adventures.
GRX will leave Times Square in New York City in August 2007, and finish 17 days later in Los Angeles, CA. On the road, teams will follow a set of instructions and clues, making their way to checkpoints in various locations around the U.S., arriving on time to compete at special racing challenges. There, they’ll compete in speed and endurance challenges on famous racetracks, and paved and unpaved roads in a battle for cash and the GRX Trophy. Every day will be a surprise to the players, never knowing where they are going or what race they'll have to do once they get there. They will have to work together, so teamwork will be key. Adrenaline required!
Each team member must compete in every competition and the times totaled for a combined score. In the end the fastest team wins!
