It is with a great sadness and concern that I am posting this as it was recently brought to my attention that one of our fellow SoCal SAAB club members has been reported missing. He went for a walk last Tuesday and has not been seen since that point. David Boone drove a Red 9K Aero Griffin edition SAAB and had a been buying other 9k's for his sons as well. The following news stories are all I have found to date and I am working on getting contact information for the family if anyone of you would like the information once I get it please let me know. Please keep David and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this time. Thank you.

Steve Hayes

Anyone with any information as to Boone's whereabouts was asked to call 714-628-7170.

Wow that sucks. I actually saw him driving around RSM a few weeks ago. I never met him at any of the meets, but I remember seeing him because it was the ONLY super clean 9k Aero I have seen around.

Best wishes to his family.

Deputies call off search for missing hiker, 56

From Times Staff Reports
December 12, 2006

The search for a 56-year-old man missing for nearly a week has been called off, authorities said Monday.

David Boone, a father of four and a golf club designer whose clients include pros Ernie Els and Fred Couples, is believed to have gone hiking in the foothills near his home, an area known for freezing nightly temperatures and a mountain lion population, said Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino.

Bloodhounds and a search team have canvassed the area to no avail.

"The more time that goes on, the chances of him being found safe and sound diminishes," Amormino said. "I hope he is OK, but if he is up in the canyon, it would be hard for somebody to survive."

The uncertainty is going to be the worst thing.

One of David's sons' friends, Jeff Long, posted a request for help at http://trollhattansaab.net (http://trollhattansaab.net/). They are organizing a search party tomorrow morning. If you live in the area and are available please consider helping-out. Here are the details cut and pasted from TrollhattanSAAB:

I'm a friend of one of David's sons. The family is organizing a search party for David on Friday Dec. 15 @ 630am. If anyone can spread the word or help the search, it would be an amazing favor to the Boone's. The following info can also be found at my URL: http://jefflong.blogspot.com (http://jefflong.blogspot.com/)/

6:30 Friday morning.

Walmart parking lot.
26502 Town Centre Drive.
Foothill Ranch, CA. 92610.

We will be walking thru bushes and fields.

Anyone else you can bring will be helpful.

Thank you.

I know that probably no one on here knew David but if you have free time and can possibly lend a hand the family and the SoCal SAAB Club would be very indebted to you. Thank you.
