Camera for a 10 year old?

Hey I am looking for a digital camera for my niece as she really loves to take pictures and doesn't have her own camera yet. She is like 10, so the camera needs to be simple to use, durable (able to withstand a drop or two), have great battery life (since she has no concept of the batteries running out), and not too expensive.

I would prefer something that doesn't take regular batteries, as I don't think a charge lasts very long.

If you have any ideas, please let me know. If you happen to know of any sites with cameras on sale, that would be cool too.

check out either the new Pentax or Olympus point and shoots.....they both just released waterproof (up to like 10 feet) and droppable models.

i'll see if i can get the model numbers...but I think Costco carries one or the other.
