Sevral friends that went this weekend said it was good.

I'd like to go during the week.

Not gonna make it this weekend, folks are in town so I'm lucky I'm getting this trip in. The week after Christmas I may be going to Mammoth or Bear on 2 to 3 day trip, not sure yet what I can swing (girlfriend will most likely be in on the next one). I will post up as I know more or latch on to someone else's thread if their planning a trip.

mcinvale is right, after lunch it was like a zoo. A zoo full of adolescent monkeys!

I'm guessing next week will be even more crowded since Winter break is now in full swing. With only 3 lifts open it took longer to wait for the lift than to come down any run.

So if we could drive up the night/day of a decent snow or in anticipation there of later in the evening and get a hotel room so as to get an early start, I'm in.

I live in Rancho Penasquitos so it's pretty safe to say you live south of me. So yeah, we can meet at my place, load up the gear/boards and head out. Lets say we leave by 5am. Google maps says 2.25hrs from my place but figure in traffic heading up the mountain into big bear and maybe a breakfast stop and we should be there by 8am.

I will be boarding at Bear on the 28th and 29th. Friends have a cabin and how could anyone say no to that despite the crowds. Besides, the 28th is my birthday.

Snow levels are at 6,000 feet. The bases of Summit and Bear are around 7,00 so it is not going to rain at either mountain. If anything it may snow a little. :tup:

i grew up riding Mammoth almost every weekend, now I just look down on socal resorts. So much worse now that I'm living near Tahoe. I'm in socal for the week and can't bear to deal with the conditions here. And I know what you mean about picking the days to go riding.

i know whatcha mean.......i was getting some crazy winds at home.....had to make sure everything was bolted down. i'm waiting for a few more of these eucalyptus trees to fall :eek: :eek:
