Enhanced cooling due to the Rotor Disc design encouraging air flow through the disc. The Rotor Disc design also reduces the weight of the discs making them the lightest direct replacement discs on the market reducing the weight by approx 10%.Reducing unsprung rotational weight which in turn improves acceleration and reduces Gyroscopic effect improving handling.(The same idea behind Alloy and

Magnesium Wheels). Example: Audi TT a saving of 1.36kg on the front discs alone. 16 grooves giving increased friction improving stopping power and allowing hot gasses to escape whilst stopping the disc and pads from glazing over, keeping stopping power throughout the life of the discs. Unichrome Zinc plated to help prevent rust on upswept surface. Rotor Discs have been designed to be gentle on pads whilst maintaining stopping power. Rotor Discs are available for all road cars.

I would definatly say "NICE"

but by cutting it like that you lose surface area that the pad would contact and sweep therefore making what part of the rotor is there work harder, hotter, and lose efficency. I seriously doubt they are directional (different rotors for left/right) so you have a vaccum on the edge of the right one and pressure on the left side, plus they will probably chew pads really quick due to the cut and heat. and at $300 a pair I'll pass. I think thier booty, ricey, tacky, belong at a NOPI show on a civic with neon lights, goofy english

I second that opinion. It is a rather extreme rotor, but it isn't the extremest I have seen.

and I can't seem to find the one that I saw at SEMA last year but it was a rotor pretty much slotted all the way thru the disc it had a lot of them. The point of the rotor was reduced weight. I can see a rotor like this being applicable on say a drag car where weight is crucial, but on a daily driver or street car or track car, longevity is the key and you defenitly don't want reduced mass in the rotor. If you can find anything look for 2 piece design to save weight that uses a slotted disc.

IMO it looks fugly but it does serve a purpose, so I guess its up to the consumer.

if i was in a drag car going 150+ mph last place i would reduce weight on is the brakes. I would rather just diet for a few days and lose that extra few lbs or race commando style ;)

Well when you are going over 150 you usually have a parachute, and you'd be amazed at how well the ultra lightweight setups brake, they work great for drag cars...you don't want to have ULTIMATE stopping for a drag car, the thing would probably flip end over end if you stood on it...

Exactly. Drag cars are light, plus they ussualy put the "lightest" brakes on the rear. If your really going that fast, you have a chute.

Since your going to use the chute, the brakes are mostly there to hold the car at the line.

that being said, when you only have to stop once, you dont need a ton of brakes.

Back on topic, those things are ugly.

Simply, no.
