View Full Version : Hood Pins or No Hood Pins?
So I have been waiting for a Custom made Sport Quattro Carbon Fiber Hood for my car been waiting now over a year for it.
So there are two different hoods one without hood pins but the will not be ready for another month or so?
The other is hood pins only and they have 1 left with hood pins and I can have it now!
So my question is do I want to wait for the hood without pins or should I just go with the one they have with hood pins?
hood pins on your car would be like pimples on a super model

i'm a fan of hoodpins. better safe than sorry!
if you think they stand out, then powdercoat / annodize / paint them black. problem solved.

then, i guess my girl has some pimples then... i do not care. I like them with the 11lbs. M.A. Shaw Carbon Fiber GTR hood of mine.
I think it all depends on personal preference and the functionality or purpose of the vehicle in question.

well im not dissing hoodpins im just saying im glad i went from the big metal sparco ones to my stealth flushmount ones
Its car dependant, 69 SS Nova, bueno, URQ, no bueno, there are other things that can help tie it in if you are going for that street driven race car look, otherwise they just look out of place, of course, this is my opinion, they are your cars, do what ever the hell you want.

Nipples, definitely. And hoodpins are like nipple rings. Awesome.
Seriously, better safe than sorry. I know 13 local guys who have lost their hoods (yes I keep track) which *supposedly* were built to work with factory latches so they didn't need hood pins, and yet off they flew at reasonable highway speeds like 70mph.
Make sure you use good hood pins too, like Momo or Sparco or even the VW Motorsport pins if you can find them. Don't go cheap.

Flusher?
Less noticable? Har!! :D
I am going to wait as I do not like the looks of any hood pins I have seen.
So nipple less is what I am going to do.
Thanks everyone!

Good luck with that. Hope I don't have to add you to my list. After all, it could be that the purpose of your life is to serve as a warning to others.
